What is Rejtély?
Rejtély is a web app for building your own treasure hunt, home escape room or investigation game. You create stations, get a QR code for each, print them and place them on site. The player scans them with a phone and walks the route the way you wrote it: text clues, questions, code locks and photos.
I have no idea what story to tell. What now?
You can start from ready-made templates: a birthday treasure hunt, an anniversary, a kids' hunt, team building, an escape room at home, a noir murder case, and from 6 November AKTA 26, the sequel to our TikTok series (best started after the series, as it gives away the ending). Each one gives you finished stations and texts to rewrite for your own place and names in the editor. If none of them fits, the „No idea what story to tell?” section on the home page gives you a prompt to copy into any AI (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini): the prompt describes what Rejtely can do, and the model asks you questions and puts the stations together, ready to type in.
How do I make my own treasure hunt?
In the editor you create stations and put elements on each: a text clue, a question, a code lock, a photo, a task or a word puzzle. Then you download every station's QR code on one printable sheet, cut them out and place them. Send the first code to the player and the game starts. Video elements need the Pro package.
Can I build an escape room at home?
Yes. Combine code-lock and question stations into a sequence of puzzles that must be solved in order — this works as an at-home escape room without any physical lockboxes, for birthdays, parties or team building.
What if I have no printer?
You can still play: every station also gets a short code (for example K7M2) that you can write on a slip of paper by hand. On nyomozzunk.hu/game the player first enters the code of the hunt, then the code of each station — landing exactly where a scanned QR would take them.
What if a player gets stuck or switches phones?
When you require the stations to be visited in order, progress is remembered per device. If someone continues on another phone, or clears their browser data, that progress is lost — this is what the unlock code is for. Only you see it in the editor (Codes and printing), and you can read it out to the player so they can carry on.
Does the player need to install an app?
No. The player gets a simple link or QR code and everything runs in the browser, with no installation.
How much does it cost?
A package covers one mystery; it is not a subscription. The free package is 0 HUF: one mystery with up to 5 stations, available once per account. Basic is 3,990 HUF (12 stations, 6 elements each) and Pro is 6,990 HUF (unlimited stations and elements); both can be bought as many times as you like, each purchase being one more mystery. An existing mystery can be upgraded at any time, and you then pay only the difference between the two packages. Payment is coming soon; until then the platform is fully usable with the free mystery.
How long does a published mystery stay available?
A published mystery stays playable for 3 months on the free package and 6 months on the paid ones, counted from publication. We email you 30 days before it expires. Nothing is lost: the content stays in your editor, players just cannot open the stations any more.
How many stations can I add?
Free: 5 stations with 2 elements each. Basic: 12 stations with 6 elements each. Pro: unlimited. If it turns out mid-build that you need more, you do not start over — upgrade the mystery and its limits grow immediately.
What station types exist?
Ten types: text clue, info card, question, code lock, multiple choice, task, word puzzle, photo, map and video. The map and the video need the Pro package; the rest work on every package. For a question you can accept several right answers, write a separate hint for nearly-right ones, and set a time from which the question becomes visible.
